How To Become An Approved Driving Instructor.
Certain criteria must be met in order to become a professional Approved Driving Instructor.
These are:
- You must hold and have held a Full UK Driving Licence for at least four years.
- You must be able to read a number plate with numbers and letters of 79.4mm, from a distance of 27.5m (90ft).
- You must be a fit and proper person to have your name entered onto the official register. All convictions, including motoring offences still in force, may be taken into account when assessing your suitability.
- You must pass the 3 compulsory examinations.
Skills Required
Approved Driving Instructors require a high standard of driving, as well as a sound knowledge of the subjects related to teaching others to drive. You must be able to apply this knowledge and these abilities.
